To much time working; and now, the lake!

It’s hard to find time to write – time to write on my own dime, that is. I am by nature a lazy person. I have never wanted to be successful in the traditional sense, and my hobbies do not consume me enough to make me a candidate for fame.

I work a lot, and I make no excuses – sometimes a bit of time may go by between posts. But, as this blog is about boats (my boat in particular), and fishing I do have something to say to that. There is something that happens on the water – it happens in sail boats or power boats, but ever and always shall I want a strong motor in the aft of my vessel.

Sails are well and good, and sailboats can be as fun as nearly anything, especially when they are flexing with speed and a strong wind.

But a gas powered boat, especially a 2 stroke engine has a certain – smell, a certain feel as you reverse the boat, and swing it in a tight circle. The front half of the boat smooth’s the water in an odd fashion that is impossible to describe to people who don’t know water. Those of you who do know that it is in such tiny moments as these that the mystery and spirit of the water invades your thoughts and soul.

When I go fishing, I don’t care if I catch fish – I will catch moments such as these, to share with myself, and with my friends, and my kid and grandkids – here are a few pictures of some of them.
